Budget and splits

Split the costs without becoming the person who chases

Add what things cost, choose who each one splits between, and see at a glance who is still out. The arithmetic stops being your problem, and so does the reminding.

What it does

Budget and splits in Eventrie

Every expense in the Budget, split how it actually happened

The house splits between everyone, the boat between the eight who went, dinner between the six who ate. Each expense chooses its own group instead of forcing one split across the whole trip.

Each guest sees "What you owe" — theirs, and nobody else's

A guest opens the link and sees one number: what they owe. They do not see the whole budget, what anyone else is paying, or what the celebrant’s share was.

The celebrant can be left off, and usually is

The bride does not pay for her own bachelorette. Leave anyone off a split and the remainder redistributes — no manual re-division, no awkward conversation about it.

No money moves through Eventrie

This is a rule, not a limitation we are working around. People pay each other the way they already do; you mark it received. Nothing is taken automatically, and we never hold your money — so there is no balance to reconcile and nothing to withdraw.

It recalculates when the guest list moves

Two people drop out the week before. The shares change, because the arithmetic is derived rather than typed. A spreadsheet would have needed you to notice.

Questions people actually ask

About budget and splits

How do I split costs with a group without chasing everyone?

Add each expense and choose who it splits between. Eventrie does the division, shows each person only their own share, and tracks who has settled up. You mark payments as they arrive — nothing is taken automatically and no money moves through us.

Can different expenses split between different people?

Yes, and most real trips need that. The house can split between everyone while the boat splits only between the people who went. Each expense carries its own group.

Does Eventrie take a cut or hold my money?

Neither. No money moves through Eventrie at all. People pay each other however they already do, and you mark it received. There is no balance here and nothing to withdraw.

Can I leave the guest of honour out of a split?

Yes. Leave anyone off and the rest redistributes automatically. It is the normal case for a bachelorette or a birthday, not an edge case.
